Children learn through play and as early childhood educators it is our responsibility to create opportunities through many different mediums, so learning is an enjoyable experience. Tumble Tots McDowall follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) which builds on the children’s interests and family life experiences. The Early Years Learning Framework forms the foundation for ensuring that children in all early childhood education and care settings experience quality teaching and learning. Tumble Tots Private Day Care incorporates both the EYLF and the Kindy Curriculum Guidelines.

Creative Play
Dramatic play is a vital part of an early education programme. We have a permanent home corner established in the main playroom where the children
can experience the real life roles they see
at home. This is where a lot of their
social interaction takes place. Our many
forms of painting and craft help explore
different colour combinations, self
expression, textures and creative skills
as well as enhancing aesthetic awareness.
Music and Movement
Music and movement further develops their co-
years – pre-
and song all with a sense of
enjoyment.
Cognitive Skills
Completing cognitive activities such as manipulating blocks, stacking, balancing and arranging help children
We regularly observe all of the children during the day and make provision in our programmes to cater for their individual needs and interests while helping each child realise their full potential. The program is built upon daily from the family input, extension and intentional teaching opportunities and is on display for your perusal. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
We encourage and value
parent’s participation in our
daily programme as well as in
formulating and evaluating
long and short term goals for
each child in the areas of
social, emotional, cognitive,
language, physical and creative
development. In addition to our planned programme activities, staff will facilitate spontaneous and impromptu occurrences which evolve through children’s discoveries and interests. This spontaneity will be recorded by staff on the daily programme and in the children’s individual folders. Parents have access to their child’s individual development file at any time.
Tumble Tots programme also complies with the Child Care Act 2002 and Regulations 2003 with requirements regarding activities, experiences and programs.
other activities such as threading and cutting with scissors.
Outdoor play is conducive to the development of gross motor skills such as climbing,
running, jumping and throwing. Physically challenging play is offered to build muscle
tone, team play, balance, a sense of adventure and co-
achieve necessary skills required for holding a pencil. Books are carefully chosen to enhance the children’s language and general knowledge and also to increase their attention span and instil a love of reading.
